How to Repair Pressure Washer Hose?

It is common for any hoses to leak and break no matter how well you take care of them. When it comes to fixing leaks in pressure washer hose it’s even more important that you do it right because of the pressure that goes though that kind of hose. If you attempt to repair pressure washer hose the wrong way, it can be dangerous for anyone working with or near the poorly repaired hose. We recommend using one of our Hose Menders for your repair. Our hose menders can be found under our Crimp Fittings or Braided Hose fittings. We also recommend using either our MENDER-06 if you have our 3/8-inch pressure washer hose or MENDER-08 if you have our 1/2-inch pressure washer hose.

If you want to do it right, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your pressure washing system is off or unplugged
  2. Get rid of excess water or liquid inside the hose
  3. Find the leak in the hose and dry the area
  4. Cut the hose on either side of the leak
  5. Measure the diameter of your hose
  6. Use MENDER-06 for 3/8-inch hose or MENDER-08 for 1/2-inch hose
  7. Place hose tightly into each side of the hose mender
  8. Crimp each side of the MENDER onto the hose

If you feel like your hose should be lasting longer than it has been you may want to try one of our hose protection options to increase the general life of your hose. The best hose protection for pressure washer hose would likely be any of our hose guards or our hose bend restrictors.

Remember - you must use a hydraulic hose crimper to attach the MENDER fittings correctly. If you are not sure if you have the right tools, we can repair hoses via our mail-in service, or we can make new assemblies and ship them right out!
